A series of pavilions inspired by Joseph Singporewala and Leonard Manasseh.

The artist was involved in the recent refurbishment and extension of Leonard Manasseh’s modernist Grade II* listed Rutherford School in Marylebone, London (now The King Solomon Academy). Karl’s pavilions have drawn inspiration from the bold geometric shapes of the main teaching block, assembly space and Leonard’s unrealised third building; the cylinder. Fusing this with the playfulness of Joseph Singporewala’s shape sorting toys, the pavilions aim to communicate on a metaphysical level.
